Everyone,
I have checked all lights and they are on and working properly. My warning is still on, I have read other comments in other websites and some have stated that it could be a relay. Is the relay solution a possible one?

I had something similar happen on one of the tail lights on my car, when I wen't to get the "burnt" bulb out, I noticed the filament was still intact, but the "positive" side of the connection was worn down at an angle such that the copper plate to which it connect couldn't make contact anymore; a little work with a file later and connection is all good and hasn't complained in a bit over a year.

Had the same message appear yesterday on my '04 XC70 and I thoroughly searched/inspected the 20+ bulbs (thanks for the description of which bulbs were included) around the body and could not find one not working. Today, having done nothing (except drive a few hundred km) the message does not appear. Will keep in mind others' advice for next time that it may likely be a poor connection that requires a gentle bump or contact(s) that needs cleaning.

Excellent thread. I'll be keeping an eye on mine as well, since I've been getting this message the past couple of days.

With all due respect, most bulb failures are due to a burnt out filament, not faulty contact. Pounding on your Volvo may cause the dangling filament to flail around and make a temporary reconnection but it usually won't last. Just sayin'.

Agree Capt. On my '04 the bulb had an internal short- I'd smack the back of the car and it would work for a little while. I kept thinking it was the socket but when I finally replaced the bulb all the problems went away

This really works; I just went out and hit the rear outside light area and the light came on and the messages disappeared. Super advice. Thanks
