The problem I have is with FCP that advertised a Vernat thermostat and then ships out a Scan Tech. I have read several post of other members complaining about the same thing that FCP has done with their shipment. Just to put in a plug in for a competitor Autohaus, I have had better experience with them on parts they are more specific with what they ship out but some times they are little more difficult to reach but they always return calls, they prices are better than FCP for the same item for some of the item eg.: ECT sensor $27, FCP $30 also the O2 sensor.
Thanks for the info on the Scan Tech thermostat.
Code P0302 cyl #2 misfire & Code P0300 Multiple cyl misf

Car was sluggish on acceleration. got check engine light. on and flashing. oil low so I added a couple of quarts. OBD code read P0302 Cyl #2 misfiring. Removed black head cover to replace plugs and found oil pooled around spark plug wells. some oil had dripped into #2 which I guess explains the misfiring.
where might the oil be coming from? I don't want to replace plugs and wires if there is a bigger problem. head gasket?
anyone seen this before? thx.

Yep. In fact, there was a post with a photo awhile back. Most likely the gasket/seal on your oil filler cap is bad, allowing oil to work past and pool on top of the cylinder head. Replace cap or gasket and you should be set. Dunno if the oil would cause the misfire, though. Maybe.
