I forgot you have an NA 850... Yeah, some of that stuff is EGR specific, if I recall...but never owned one with those attachments. So, the oil separator just dumps into the engine from the side? Where does that nipple at the top of the oil separator box connect to? That box might be very specific and a little hard to find so it was a good thing you cleaned yours out and reused it.

It goes via a plastic tube covered in foam along with a vacuum line from the left hand side of the intake manifold to the flame trap housing. Well it did, until I changed it to a heater hose instead.

I'll probably just end up buying that hose and vacuum line, I saw they have it on eEuroparts as well as skandix.de at around 60 USD/Euros. For my budget it's rather expensive, but as you said yourself, I really don't want to have to go back in there once I've sorted the hose situation, and with proper maintenance, it'll probably outlive the rest of the car. Plus, it's another item ticked off on the way to stage 0.
