The labor cost of pressing in new bushings into the original control arms will be high. If you're not doing the labor yourself then purchase new control arms to save money.

Right lower quality:

Left lower quality:

You'll want to mount new ball joints on those new control arms

Ball Joint moderate quality x2:

Changing rear brake pads is exceedingly simple. Drive out two pins with a drift, remove pin retaining clip in the process, wiggle out old pads. Compress piston with a big pair of channel locks or large c clamp. Wiggle in new pads and drive in new pins with clip.

Of course, car is on jackstands with rear wheel removed.

Remount rear wheel and bed in new pads. Voila.

Chrism, no you don't have that wrong. I can't figure out why the guy I have been going to for years wants to send me elsewhere to a place that would cost be a fortune. Maybe he just doesn't want to deal with my fixes and thinks that because it is a Volvo it has to be done at a Volvo expert shop.
MDK, I do at least have ramps so maybe I cans search up a "YouTube" video for doing what you wrote. I need to borrow or rent an impact wrench just in case I think.

Thanks E Showell. I think i will have to go buy a big pair of channel locks or large c clamp. Can I reuse the old retaining clip?

Well Mr Detail.. MDK here. I guess it's really a question of upper body strength. And your over fitness. I bought the car ramps from tractor supply.. about 40$ back then. High strength plastic. Secondly..I did it all without any air tools. Just make sure it's real tight. I know there are torque specifications, but what's a Newton meter?

I suppose you could reuse the clip, but I generally replace them. Brake hardware kits are cheap -- c. $10-12 and will include the pins and clips for both sides of the car. Don't forget some brake grease to apply to the back side of the pads to avoid squealing.

Thanks gentlemen. MDK, which flag is that? Maybe Nike could use that one on their new shoes.

Its a real piece of history - the Revolutionary Air Force, the motivator for the modern day RAF.

You know Mr detail... when you drive a Volvo people think you own a bank or a small conglomerate....
get the parts you need...go to another garage and have your parts installed we're not swapping spit here.. get it the alignment and show the other garage your backside..
