Road trip today from Sandusky ABS light came on and the car started acting weird with both the traction control and shifting. I had the codes read at Firestone for free and it showed passenger front wheel sensor, they referred me to my dealer because of all the other codes on my car 
. I verified the torque on the axle bolt and made sure everything else was in place. Wiggling the abs sensor wire revealed that it had play, I wonder if I forgot to tighten that 10mm bolt. I retightened it and was on my way.

I let the 07 S60 2.5T roll down the driveway about 8" so the worn tires wouldn't have a flat spot while it waits for me to address the turbo

I fixed the broken tailgate latch on my newly acquired V70. It would open 1 out of every 15 tries and that would really suck once winter rolls around. So once I got it open, I took off the trim panel with the 4 Torx screws, and pulled the panel off (secured by plastic plugs).
Looking at how the outside lever operates, there is a rod that pushes down on a lever to release the lock. This rod seemed to be too short to be effective. So I found a drywall anchor, cut off the end, and stuck it on the tip of this rod to extend its reach. This seemed to make the tailgate open 1 out of every 3 times.
Lastly, I got some silicon spray with the straw tip. Sprayed the lock mechanism from the inside, on down, to the right of the inside lever in the last paragraph. Now it opens with a satisfying click every time
Now for that damm check engine light that came on because I checked the spark plugs...
(10/22 edit: found that the MAF sensor plug was left off, plugged it in and reset - good to go!)

Took my V70 in to get new back rotors and pads, thinking that there is a whirling sound coming from the rear end. When my mechanic took off the rotors, he found the parking brake shoes had disintegrated (after 18 years and 135k miles, it's normal, aye?). The local auto parts stores didn't have the shoes in stock, so we put everything back together with the idea of ordering the part online.
We took it for a ride, the mechanic said the whirling sound is from the wheel bearing. As he drove, he turned the steering wheel from side to side while listening for the bearing. The fact that the sound changed while changing directions is a sign that it's the wheel bearing and not the brakes. (nice pro tip!)

Took off the headlamp cover wipers since they didn't work together. One worked consistently one whenever it felt like it. Removed the washer fluid lines that went to.them.
Found out why the bumper cover was never staying on. It's been in an accident sometime before I got it. So I popped the fender piece out from behind the plastic headlight "frame" and it fits better ,so does my head light . Now I have to figure out how to fasten it so it stays in place. .
Painted the trim under my headlights
Replaced the floor mats
Put in a new knob for controlling the heat.
That's all I did today to my 2003 s80.
