Having some trouble with the repack on my Surface running Win10 Home.
When I run script 2, I get a VIDA NOT OK message at the end of the install. The log indicates

Error: install.doinstall.check.installed.version.is.localdb.attached.accessserver.is.attached. Reason: Failed to connect to server (local)\Vida.
Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Common.ConnectionFailureException: Failed to connect to server (local)\Vida. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)


I have IE11 installed, and before this I ran script 1 as admin. Any ideas?

Not getting everything you have. Wondering if something in the SQL install pack failed. I can get The server browser to start from this window, but the Active directory helper fails to start no matter what. I've tried re running the SQL part of the re pack quite a few times.

Got it figured out, some files were getting missed during the SQL uninstall/ reinstall. Deleted those, installed SQL again, finished everything and now using VIDA on my sisters S40! Thanks.

Vida 2014D was released early 2015. It does contain early 2015 production chassis numbers but not later 2015 production chassis numbers.

There is offline hacked version of 2014D retitled 2015A that is said to contain cars up to 2017. Do not waste your time with 2015A. It is a grossly inaccurate fake. Something cobbled together to get people to buy a DiCE unit form vendor X instead of vendor Y. The offline version of 2015A is a scam.

To read the DTCs on a 2015 not in the Vida 2014D database or a 2016+, use Vdash with a DiCE unit.
