Correct refrigerant is R134a. Also most of cans come with oil. If you top up your A/C system that often, you'll eventually add more oil than it can take if you use such cans. I buy dry refrigerant specifically (no oil) and add oil separately, depending on which A/C part has been replaced.

My one day goal is to change that condenser. I assume when i vacuum the system ill draw out the oil (honest question). Hoping my local pic yard will eventually have a nice one available.

No, pump will not suck any oil out. You replace only oil volume VIDA lists for the part you are replacing.

Don't use old second hand radiators, buy a new one. Chinese ones like Nissens do give a few years before they fail.

So the damage is in my condenser from the looks of the oil buildup. I do not have the time nor the means at this point to replace it at the moment and i have staved off working on AC systems due to the refrigerant/pressure.

From my readings, R12A seems to be fairly safe for the system in the sense that it is not as sensitive to moisture and plays somewhat nicely with the other gasses.

On the question of AC Dye, i am a little worried i will run flood the system with dye but i am not sure how much it will affect it. I am at about a half can every 10-15 days. These cans are the small 6 oz cans equivalent to a lot more R134A.

After reading the forums of a variety of sites i have concluded that A people confuse R12A with R12 a good amount, B AC systems are fragile and expensive, C i cannot find reference to excessive dye due to can charges. Now i am not saying what i am doing is smart, i just am thinking it should not lead to catastrophic failures in rapid time.

In the fall ill probably have the time and funds to order a condenser off FCP euro or some equivalent site. By then i should have a buddy who can reclaim the charge, and disconnect the old condenser and attach the new one. Nice part is it will also change the drier.

My old V70 didnt batt an eye to using R12A previously from 1998, and the S60 does not seem as problematic outside of having a larger leak.

Bit more of a rant then a response but thats the plan.

Do not mix different types of refrigerants under any circumstance (Hvac guy here)
