Yes i agree, and it does do that, or at least it did, but it took a LONG time to set the trouble code for the EVAP system so i was always able to get through inspection with just the EVAP not ready.

I out of interest check information there is for Motronic M4.4 SAE/ISO diagnostic trouble code table from Volvo all i find about EVAP for P04xx codes.

P0440 EFI-315 EVAP valve leak
P0445 EFI-541 EVAP Valve Signal too high
P0450 EFI-621 Fuel tank pressure sensor Signal faulty.
P0452 --//--
P0453 --//--


But there seems not to be Pxxx codes for couple EFI codes about Tank system, large leakage / small leakage so those cannot be detected i guess via Standard OBDII code reading then.

I am not too worried about the EVAP system monitor because that never works yet i still get through inspection. That works because that monitor takes SO LONG to set a trouble code that i always got through inspection even with that one 'not ready'.

On mine, it does detect a small leak, if present, and it says so on the OBD2 meter when testing the OBD2 readiness.

I looked wrong model data, my mistake it didn't have even the fault code listed which i was checking against at all but other models had with M4.4.
