Long term results for 2001 V70 auto transmission drain and fill

That dirty fluid is usually a sign of bad torque converter clutch. Just burnt ATF is brown, not black. If you put one drop of your old fluid on a white paper towel, you'll see worn friction particles.

Also need to check ATF level with the engine running, or the level will be high.

I still say it's partly because of old fluid(previous owners) + slipping lockup function leading to this disaster. All transmission posts + 2 of my own I've seen have had the same color(brown or worse).
