If this doesn't work for you, see DougM's post (and others here if you care to search) about replacing the 850 wiper arms with S/V70 wiper arms.

Thanks Matt!!! Over a year later and still getting people to fix their wiper = win. LOL... And thanks for the spring pic too. That's what I did to mine, just never could get a good pic of it.

An easier fix i found without sanding/sawing/cutting was: I simply took the bottom half of the arm up, and bent it slightly with the help of some gripped tools; and it doesn't even look bent and hugs the windshield perfectly! VERY FAST, and efficient way:) But this is a good idea too! As my wipers kept missing sooooo much before i figured out it was the arms.

So I did this with mine also and just replaced the wiper with a cheap walmart wiper and I am noticing that it does not come up very high on the windshield (21" wiper). Is that normal?

Great Fix!!! IPD has a video that illustrates them bending the arm. That was what I have been doing - till now. Arm has been re-straightened and your fix works like a charm! THANK YOU!!!

A friend and I recently bought an 850 wagon for a trip. We changed the wipers for some good Bosch Aerotwins just to find out right before starting the trip, that it wasn't the old wipers gone bad, it was the wiper arm (drivers side) barely touching the windscreen.
We stopped, removed it, bent the upper part (using bricks from a nearby construction site as a bench vise) toward the windscreen. After three tries we got it bent the right amount to perfectly wipe the screen again.
The upper part of the drivers side wiper arm is now visibly more bent towards the windscreen than the passengers arm. Well, thats the "russian fix" I guess (as we would call it around here).

The best solution that I know of is to take the PASSENGER side wiper arm from a S70 and install it on the DRIVER side of the 850.

Robert,

Will the blades refills from my 850 fit the S70 arm? Just purchased a used wiper arm from e-bay as I have bent and grinded my arm way too often.
