Just some added info on what's going on here-
This summer I replaced my water pump on my S70- it appeared to be leaking.
I drove it awhile after this and there was still the same leak.
It ended up that the small hose from the overflow (expansion) tank to the thermostat housing was leaking and the way the coolant spilled, it had a straight shot from there (grooves of the engine) right to where the water pump was. I took my timing belt off, compressed the tensioner, etc. and replaced the water pump for no reason-

just saying, so check that little hose and see if there is a leak from the thermostat housing that makes it appear to be from your water pump- you can save yourself some money and a lot of aggravation.

I allready have that leak for a while...but somehow i never remind myself to replace the hose and clamp from that expansion tank.I also have a coolant signs around the water pump, but i know that it's from the expansion tank overflow hose and that my water pump is ok.
