1986 240dl Stalling

No OBD. You need to search on Google for a wiring diagram for 1986 Volvo 240.

A. I ran out of gas...Installed new fuel pump...it will bog down

B. Both pumps are working and are strong

C. I have tested the fuel regulator and it is good. Rail is getting up to specs.

D. Lummert asks - Were you able to use a fuel pressure test kit to check fuel pressure?

E. I will test the clamp in the morning

F. Clamped down the hose to restrict the flow of fuel going back to the fuel tank. Revs up beautifully and has no trouble accelerating. So its the FPR

G. Removed Clamp - OK but if I rev it up it will flutter, bog down and want to die.

H. So I guess I am looking for advice on my delima still.

Advice - Replace FPR.

Is this timing using vacuum advance like some other autos? If so where does it come from and what is it off of?
