MidWest ABS is Matty-Moo from this site and can be 100% trusted. Good work at a fair price. Don't hesitate.

By disturbing the board and moving it and putting pressure on it you've temporarily alleviated the symptoms by closing the cracks in the board; but the symptoms will be backwoodchopper wrote:Many thanks to everyone for all the work and pictures you have contributed. My ABS light was coming on infrequently. I took it off and apart. I could not see any cracks in the solder using a magnifying glass so I decided to just put it back on without doing anything to it. I sprayed the connectors and the metal tubes that the module slides onto(electrical contact cleaner). The light has not come on yet but it has only been a day or so. Makes me wonder if it was just the connectors needing to be cleaned. So I just wanted to suggest that anyone with the ABS light coming on try spray cleaning the connectors before going to all the work of tearing the module apart.
This is on a front wheel drive non turbo. I don't know anything about the tracs issue.

Hi everyone and thank you Lee for this post.
I registered here just to say that I took a chance on my 2005 XC90 and went ahead with this fix.
All the symptoms where there and Volvo estimated me 2200$ for a new unit.
And guess what it worked out just fine. The ABS light was still on after the fix but just like described here it turned itself off after a minute or two of driving.
Ive been around a lot after the fix and everything works just fine.
Thank you guys and of course Lee!

So I went ahead did my abs module. All went fine, but the CEL still on even after 100 km driving. I was getting the up arrow and CEL first then I got it reset @ my volvo garage, 10km after that I got abs/brake/CEL all on right after I left the garage, then all the other lights went off on their Own beside the CEL(this is the one permanently on).
And this is the one still on. My questions is, did I fix it or not? Can the CEL turn off by itself after you perform THE DIY. Or I have to get it reset and go from there.

cool will do that.
is it must a special scanner(volvo type) or a common one will do(reset the CEL)?

performed the DIY.
Now the CEL is the only light still on, and it was the only light stays on right before the DIY.
