The DiCE needs a power source. Plugged in it draws power from the OBD2 pin#16 ( +12V ) . Not plugged into the OBD2 port you need to power the DiCE from a 12V wall wart. The 12V external port is right next to the OBD cable on the DiCE unit. Two amps is enough current. The DiCE is never powered from the USB port.plettplett wrote: ↑31 Jul 2021, 10:00 I'm wondering if my DICE is a dud. .....The DICE is not plugged into the Volvo.
Keep a Windows 10 machine around and don't upgrade it to Windows 11. One of Vida's dependencies is ActiveX. That is why the IE11 rendering engine must be installed for Vida to work in windows 10. IE11 components will not be included in Windows 11. No ActiveX in Windows 11 .. no Vida running under Windows 11 unless somebody finds a way to add IE11 in back in. Then it would be a maybe.plettplett wrote: ↑31 Jul 2021, 17:22 It's been a mission keeping the wagon going since '99, and I'm very hopeful VIDA & DICE in my lap will aid tremendously in extending its life.
