Could be a chassis break?

31104839 Is 1999 2000 only at FCP, BUT volvo we store says it is basically a P2 part

I think your 1999 must have the earlier -1998 part

1275801 harmonicdamper -1998

The index hole looks right in that one.

That would make sense that I have the 98 part here since I don't have variable valve timing and other things that people say should be on my 99. The thing is FCP also has the Volvo blue box part (VOL-31104839) which seems to have both centered and offset alignment holes, where the Corteco only had the offset hole. When I called my Volvo parts department they noted that the original part had be replaced by a new one, so it all adds up. Hoping they send the replacement asap. Thanks for the investigation as always!

Ah ok so it's more a factor of having a non turbo for me.

Side note for swapping a harmonic balancer, does anyone have any tips? Yesterday I was able to pull and reinstall it with just a rental puller without locking the cams, the belt seemed to keep timing fine. Was that a risky move?

Some late 1999 NAs did in fact have VVT. I believe Evan had a '99 with VVT... must not have been Evita? Could be mixing that up with someone else on here.

Off topic but always meant to ask, is your handle a symbol of your music interests by any chance?
