At this point I’d pull both axles and see if this grinding is still happening. You’ve then isolated the transmission being ok or not.

Then I’d put in one axle at a time. When noise does come get a stethoscope to isolate it.

You will have to remove the hub nut again unfortunately. I undo the outer steering tie rod at the wheel end, then undo and remove the 2 lower control arm inner bolts as well as one end of the anti sway-bar end link. You should be able to swing the strut out far enough to get the end of the axle out without having to remove the strut.

Looking at the video again, there is definitely something wrong with the outer CV joint on the RH axle as noted the outer CV boot is not rotating. If you replaced the outer CV boot, I would suggest that maybe the circlip did not get refitted correctly at the bearing area.

I have removed the axle from the hub and what seems unusual is that when I rotate the hub sans the axle, it does not rotate smoothly. I have used the rotor to rotate the hub and it seems to almost skip. It’s random, but when it does not skip both front wheels move at the same time.
The inner seal cover to the hub has separated from the hub, and I don’t think that bodes well.
I have not yet removed the outer boot.
Thoughts?

Something could have gone wrong in the repair process, and the bearing has gone bad on you. I still think the issue is centered around your outer RH axle CV joint.

Looks like the outer CV may have not been seated fully on the shaft and thus stripped out. Likely going to require a new/different axle shaft at this point, unless you're extremely lucky and it just moved its way out due to the circlip not being installed fully.

I removed the cv boot and was able to remove the outer part of the axle - the cir-clip was not fully seated!
Was able to reinstall everything, making sure the clip and outer part of the axle were not going anywhere.
Removed the drivers side axle as well. Going to replace the spring clip at/near end of the shaft that goes into the housing.
Waiting on new output shaft seals.
Anything I can do in the meantime?

I don't think so. Glad it was the clips not fully seated. Hopefully that will allow it all to go back together with the new seals when they arrive.

Before I install the axles should the car be in park or neutral?
The splines on the hub and outer axle shaft on the passenger side did not appear to have suffered any damage. I will check the splines again before the axles are installed.

Based on what I saw happening, I would not expect any damage to the splines on the hub bearing splines or the outer axle splines as they were bolted together and not going anywhere on the RHS. As that axle was turning the other one would likely not done anything either.

Even the inner end of the axles I would not expect any damage either as they were in place as well.

The place where any damage could be caused was the outer CV axle and the CV boot itself, but even that seemed not to be moving and the axle shaft was just spinning inside it. I really hope a visual inspection will confirm all that!

Now do you want to swap places and try and repair and rebuild my dash in my R?
