Help, Advice, Owners' Discussion and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's stylish, distinctive P2 platform cars sold as model years 2001-2007 (North American market year designations).
My scantech upper strut mount broke in an unusual way: When re-torqing 1 of the 3 nuts on top of the strut tower, the last one popped off with a piece of the bolt still on it! I don't care anymore, OEM and powerflex from now on. This nonsense of trying to save money through fcp is getting old. I'm spending a grand on my suspension as of now. BTW these things are same p/n from an xc90, that's right an xc90.
Today I spoke with someone can't remember who it was over at ipd... anyway, they're finally introducing HD- strut mounts! I'm going to hold off on buying new ones until these new ones come out. Thank You IPD!!!
Yeah,
They (IPD) discovered that the Strut mounts from the XC90 fit all of the FWD and AWD Volvo's all the way down to the 850's and they are much sturdier. I believe they now have a company making these for them to spec, plus a few improvements with the rubber.
