I lucked out on my Alfa and found a used set of widened steelies built by a quality machine shop in NC back when that was more common. I hunted for a wheel shop to do this for years, and these popped up on the Alfa forum cheap. Shipping heavy steel wheels is costly though!

Same as the 122 wheel, stock is a skinny 4 1/2". These were banded, not new barrels, out to 6 1/2". The depth and stock dog dish hubcap are perfect. My only concern is the idea of scrub radius being excessive. I'm looking at a 195/60-15. 205 is too much for that lightweight car and it's old steering box.

Four 6 1/2" and one 4 1/2" lower right. I had my local wheel guy manually straighten up dips and dents in the lips. They're just primer, I need to strip them down and paint. Now I can keep my original skinnies for posterity or whatever.

I read up on this kit when we had a 240, but with my experience level then, that would have been a huge project. Odvar the genius Volvo mechanic had a 242 coupe with a 302 manual that he swapped himself. It was quick. He took me for a couple of rides. Sat low in the front. I remember he put diesel springs in front for the extra weight.

Amazon / 122 stainless steel bumpers.

I've seen these advertised somewhere...maybe an ebay store? It appears they are a British company with production in Vietnam of many classic car replacement bumpers in stainless steel. Wagon set is $924 US with shipping. Anyone here heard of these?

I get email updates from Classic Volvo Restoration. I love looking through their parts pages.

The owner is a pilot with Swedish heritage, the company is US registered but run from Stockholm. Parts are stocked in the US and Sweden apparently.

A bit off topic, but has anyone put a 5cyl turbo into a RWD car, such as a 960 ? Or something smaller ? Seems like it would be a lot of fun to drive with that combo.

Sveedy - there are a lot of North-South 5 cylinders in Amazon chassis, but as I understand it, it involves a lot of surgery to the firewall and tunnel, and a transmission adapter.

Don't know much about the 700 / 900 series, but I'll bet it's been done.
