I have used a T-20, cocked at an angle and being very gentle on the torque, to get the torx screws out that I can't get a good straight bit on.

That's a really good tip, unfortunately...I don't have a T-20. I think I might saw off the end of the T-25 like I did with my T-30 when I had to remove the airbag from the steering wheel. On a side note, aside from getting hung up on this last screw, everything else has been really easy; thanks a lot for the write up.

Had my dad cut off the handle to the T-25 and I managed to get the blower out. It was a bear to weave it past all of the wires. Any advice on putting it back in? Lee, I was curious as to how your blower held up after the WD40 treatment?

That's good. I've got another question, however. I've got the screw off and the pwer connector out but the motor won't slide out of the housing. Anyother advice on how to get it out? I'm afraid to pull too hard on the plastic cage because i don't want to break it.

I had the same fear so I just sprayed the crap out of the front bearing with the blower cage still on using a tube nozzle on the oil. Others claim you can tap the shaft out by supporting the blower cage from the sides but I was not so bold as to even try after the first attempt where the blower cage appeared to me to be well and truly press fitted on.

Are you saying that you didn't even remove the blower motor from the housing? Or were you talking about taking the cage off the motor itself?

NVM, I just got it out. I pounded it out from the back through the hole that the t20 screw goes into. Came out just fine and I used WD40 on the bearings. I'm going to let it sit over night and I'll put it back in tomorrow.
