94 Turbo, 282.000km
top engine mount, thermostat and the ac/fan all went bad last year.
Have almost the complete service history, apparently the windshield had been replaced 1997. As I was told this was a weakness in early 850s, wrong mounting techniques made them crack quite early. 2 months ago the steering rack went bad, leaky and rusty. Had it replaced a week ago, drives like new now. Also, the clutch gave up after 270.000km, but to me that falls under general maintenance.
Other than that only maintenance, replaced almost all rubber suspension components and engine mounts, strut tower mounts, shock absorbers, springs (H&R 30mm lower sport springs), did the shim trick on the AC compressor, gave it a good stage 0 tuneup etc...
Now using a Wothrline ECU together with TME exhaust, it just runs fantastic. 260+ km/h, couldn't make out the exact speed since I had to concentrate on the road and not the gps.

How about the CV Axle shaft on the AWD's? Seems to be a common fail...

I have owned my 99 S70 T5 for a couple of month now (approx. 94,000 miles). The only maintenance previous owner did was engine oil change and a walmart battery. When I got this car, it had 6 CEL codes with ABS and ETS lights on. So, I immediately have my mechanics work on it. They replaced the upper motor mount, two front lower control arms, rear o2 sensor, front rotors and pads, and trunk struts, and flush brake fluid. Oh, and aligment which had to be redone 3 times.
Then, I did ABS module resoldering, replaced J evap hose, fuel filter, gas cap, air filter, cabin air filter, both broken front safety door lights, broken driver side outer tail lamp, broken door lock pin bazels, and tighten the bolts under cowl (which didn't solved my dash rattling), tighten the bolts on driver seat (which is still rocking back and forth), adjusted hood latch (which works now), fixed broken tap of lower compartment under glove box, duct taped broken front driver side wheel arch (tire doesn't touch it but bumper sags slightly on that side), zip tied the broken cover under instrument panel, zip tied loose front passenger side turn signal lamp housing (which pops out time to time while braking).
There are still many things to be addressed, such as oil leaking turbo, weak brake booster, timing belt, torn apart front door check attaching part, ETM, and so on. My keyless rarely works. Front swaybar bushings are cracked.
But I love my Volvo, and I forgive the previous owner just because they put H&R sport springs and Biltein HD shocks, which made this already fun car even more fun.

Torque converter (I believe that was the actual problem... 'had the tranny rebuilt while they were in there)
Fuel level sending unit
Tailgate gas cylinders
I voted for fuel pump relay
Knock on wood with crossed fingers other than cosmetic wear and tear thats it!
