Obvious solution is a separate, locked HF ammo box for each set of bolts removed:

They are 8mm hex heads.

All good advice, thanks. I use bags with a marker, and old peanut butter tubs with lids. I have a stack of them, mark on the lids. Use them to soak bolts in degreaser.

These two bolts were alone and unmarked - my mistake. Couldn't put them back in the holes because the cam cover wouldn't go back on with them in the way.

My cam position sensor has these little torx head bolts on the intake side...

Same as the ones holding misc pipes onto the intake manifold.

Put those two little buggers back into the cam sprockets - no movement, whew!

Buttoned her back up. Need a sea trials trip somewhere, look for leaks, listen for funny noises. We're thinking of taking Betty to Denver for a wedding next week (1800 mi round trip). Which makes me nervous...
