9135036 tensioner Ina vs Volvo
Any reason not to go INA (65 bucks) instead of Volvo 115 bucks? Thanks. Apparently these are becoming a bit hard to find though FCP has the INA (both in fact).

I would wager INA is making that part for Volvo. Click the INA button!

"INA number 56512" is the tensioner roller, not the tensioner. It's a different part.
Tensioner is INA-5330119100. Currently $68 at NewEgg.com which is a very good price. They've had a few really well priced OE parts recently (e.g. 4C struts) I hope they aren't counterfeits.

That's what I thought too. But that listing I linked to seems to show the actual whole tensioner. I ordered one the other day. I will let you know what I end up receiving.
If I get just the roller, I think it's ok. The pivot on the tensioner doesn't seem to me like a high wear item, based on my experience with these sorts of things on other cars. I know when mine was last done, but I'll give it a visual check of course, to make sure.

This ad is crystal clear, it includes roller but no tensioner.S Carlson wrote: ↑28 Jun 2022, 18:33 Cross-references to INA number 56512. On evilbay for $19!

Maybe your car uses the mechanical tensioner not the hydraulic tensioner that is the subject of this thread? 98 x70 was a split year for the tensioners. The mechanical tensioner looks something like the roller in that ad.

OP wants 9135036 which is the roller and arm. Kinda ridiculous that the Volvo blue box part is $115 eh?
The roller and the tensioner arm are in the listing photos. Not just the roller.

Normally, I'd call the roller/pivot/arm part a tensionor, as it puts tension on the belt. The problem is of terms because Volvo uses two parts to do the job. It's kind of confusing in the manual too, as I think Volvo actually calls both parts a "tensioner" a time or two.... it's one of the reasons why I was getting so frustrated with the manual when doing my timing belt.
I bought a kit with the INA roller/pivot/arm and I noticed that while it looks to be a quality part it was not quite identical to the original Volvo part that looked even better. With as much time that has passed, I'd bet that the INA labeled part is the same as the current Volvo labeled part.

Ah I see - the thread title has the wrong part name in it. My mistake I did not look up the part number just trusted the text.
That listing you found on eBay is indeed the part OP is looking for, though it's not a tensioner. I get it!
Thanks for clarifying.
