Side illumination?

So on other vehicles I have seen the headlights illuminating the sides very well, but on my S60 the corners are not illuminated at all and it makes doing turns at night a tad more difficult.

Is this a limitation of the headlights or something is wrong on mine?

All P2s I've had had the same problem.

Unfortunately there is no cheap answer to this question. I believe some great people were able to retrofit later year xenon lights but it requires expensive headlights, software....too complicated and expensive IMHO.
You can experiment with different bulbs and see if you will have some improvement( i lost battle with horrible low beams in my 01 long time ago and just "live with it").

Wife's past car was 2016 XC60 in top trim. It has had adaptive Xenon headlights, and it still was worse than she has now in her Sequoia. Toyota simply makes a wider light beam pattern, so you see corners well. I certainly wouldn't invest time and money into P2 xenon, not worth it.

XC70 has a wider fog lights pattern, which helps a bit. Replaced them with 10W CREE flood lights, which are not street legal, but I don't use them with oncoming traffic. And too many deers around to be in a small car at night anyways.
