I have a 1992 240 M47 5-Speed and it has a weird idle most noticeable when engine is restarted after being run until it is hot.
I replaced the 02 sensor just before this problem began.
My problem is that the idle will surge from 700-1000 rpm when engine was just restarted hot, I unplugged the iac valve while running and the idle went to surging alot, when I plugged the iac valve back in the idle jumped to 1500 rpm and stays there until shut off. After I shut off the engine I restarted the engine and unplugged the maf with the engine running and the same thing happened, the idle went crazy surging, when I plugged the maf back in the idle jumped to 1500 rpm and it just stays there. Only shutting off the engine and restarting the engine does it return to normal idle speed at 750.
I have replaced the Fuel Injection Coolant Temp Sensor and nothing changed, I also have a running rich problem at the same time.
Any thoughts?
Weird idle when warm on 1992 240
The running rich and surging idle are gone, but my alternator is acting up when I start the car the battery volts is 12.2v with engine running at idle, but once I rev the engine the battery volts goes up to 14.0v and stays there. It also stumbles when I bump the throttle.
