P80 Steering rack shuttle lines - oil pressure?

Inspired by a VW car problem - supply and return lines are ok, but the shuttle lines that take oil between the sides of the rack are rusted out.

Of course, new parts, NLA

Could I flare and use a rubber hose bridge here , maybe even temporary fix? Im guessing the shuttle pressue is low - maybe 3 bar max.

Anyone ever try this??

I have not done this, but I would certainly try a hose patch.

Just replace the slab with rocks? And wedges?
Maybe with hose bridge?
