Hello all,
Being that it is now nice outside I would like to clean up my 850! I was planning on using the Meguiars 3 Step process, with a paint cleaner, polish and then wax. The bottle says it is safe for clear coat paints. Is this "intensive" cleaning overkill or harmful to the paint?. I used this stuff on my old Bronco and it worked wonderfully! The paint is currently in good condition. What kind of wax would everyone recommend? The color is white, if that changes the discussion.

I would clay bar the car first, then go thru your process

My car looks OK from 10 feet, but up close, it's scratched and imperfect. Therefore I bought some old turtlewax for like 2.00.

All of the internet elitists I run into use Zaino and talk it up about their rides, whatever they may be.

I've never worried about it much, since I buy all my cars used and neglected. I do wax them about 3 times/year though just to keep them at or above the condition I purchased them in. Oldschool wax like I use, beads up, which everyone claims is unpreferred to new SCIENTIFIC polymers that make water sheet off the car and not dry into unsightly spots.

My Volvo lives outside, under trees that are currently producing pollen. It doesn't matter if I wash it.. The next morning, it's practically yellow and covered in sticky goo.

Stuff like Nu Finish is quick and easy to use (cheap too.) It's better than doing nothing. And if easy waxing makes people not mind doing it so much, I am all for it.

Most of the 850s I see in traffic look pretty dull. My pseudo-beater shines pretty well.

Sorry for the late response, I was out of town for the weekend and did not have access to internet. Anyways, I will go ahead and try out these products and post my results. I think going through the three step process will get rid of little scratches and make the car shine up real nice. The car drives so much better when it is nice and clean! :D
