Rear Wheel Bearing

Post by Tsquared »

I have a roaring coming from my right rear tire area. I initially thought it may be a tire problem but I have put a new tire on the back and it still has the roar while going down the road. It varies with speed. I have heard a similar roar with an old 4WD truck I had and that turned out to be a bad front wheel bearing and race. I have pulled a search on this (and a few other boards) and have come up with nothing on the rear wheel bearing (Matthew's has the most info about the front - ).

I have misplaced my Haynes Manual (along with my sevice records). Has anyone replaced a rear bearing? Does anyone know how involved the process is on a 1 to 10 scale?
