850 replacement seat leather

Post by asummers »

Does anyone know of a supplier of replacement seat leather for Volvo cars? Most of the 850's I find always have the drivers seat in need of repair. So, I would like to find a supplier to replace the two front seat covers. Thanks, Alan

No one does, either OEM skins (expensive) or have them redone by a professional

I found this guy on eBay that sells leather for our cars. The ad doesn't say 850 in the title, but it does down in the description.

See if you can just put some body/interior matching seat covers over the original seats. The material underneath should still be good. Most auto parts stores have entire aisles of them nowadays.

WHAT?????
First of all the foam usually is NOT good after 120K miles or so, it collapses.
You guy should see if one of these franchises is close to you, they can do wonders and make the seat look as new for very little money

The seat foam in mine is in wonderful shape, only the exterior has wear showing at 93k miles. So experience must vary.

120K is another 30K from your mileage.
Also, if you weigh under 150 lbs, that helps.
All seats are different but the 120K was a general, average mileage for wearing out.
I have someone here with 80 that his foam is shot, The 1st owner was very "large"

My 850 is 178K and the foam is perfectly fine. The previous owner was also a bit large, and I weight 170lbs, and my foam is still great. Leather is in somewhat good condition.

If you look on ebay for 850 seats, you can occassional spot someone selling the OEM seat cover, used but usually in good shape.
