1995 850 trubo wgn seatbelt

Post by jks1259 »

Had an earlier post about repairing driver's side seatbelt.

It is now done. Found the replacement from MySwedishParts.com for about 2/3 price of dealer. Not a difficult job, even for someone like me with minimal mechanical talent.

SRS light remains on from when i disconnected the original belt apparatus. I guess this needs to be reset at the dealer/mechanic who can check relevant codes, etc.?

Yes, dealer only to reset the SRS....to bad you didn't disconnect the battery before you took the old one out...this would have avoided this.

THe battery was disconnected for at least 20 minutes before I took out the old. Tried to get the tensioner to release before I bought new one. Had to drive without it for a few days then disconnected it for twenty min before I put in the new one[/u]

Well, you had to do what you had to do. Once the light gets set, it's a dealer issue. No amount of disconnecting the battery will turn it off.
