I am getting the intermittent symptoms of the ABS module going bad (ABS light/service required msg, STC service required msg, cruise control going out) and I'd like to fix it myself. The only thing I can't figure out is how to remove the fuse box in order to get to the ABS module. I have a 2001 V70 T5 Turbo, and the fuse box extends over the ABS module. Can anyone help? I'll post pictures if needed.
I have been to Vic Rocha's site and think I can get the module out once I get the fuse box removed. Is he the best source of repair? I've also seen ModuleMaster and BBA-reman.
Thanks,
Chris

Which two screws? I see one at underneath the air filter casing that appears to screwed into the frame, but can't find the other. Is there a need to take apart the air filter case. It almost appears that I can get to the ABD module if I can only get the fuse block off.
Thanks for the reply!

You might have to take off the air cleaner housing to get to that screw you are talking about. That's one of them.
There's another one just inside the strut mount, more toward the center of the car. If you look rearward from the screw you found at about a 45 degree angle toward the midline of the car you should see it. It might be under the large gauge battery wires.
You might want to look at this page at Vic's website. He says to remove the air cleaner but leave the fuse block in place. I know it says for S80, but I think it might apply to your car also:

Thanks again for the info. I also sent Vic Rocha an email and he mentioned that you actually don't have to remove the fuse box, just the air cleaner box. I thought you had to remove the fuse box in order to rotate the cover. Guess I'll give it a shot this week.

I too, visited the Vic Rocha web site. At 1st glance I was wincing at the prospect of changing the ABS Mod but...if he can get 5 women to do it....Gee wizz so can I! Small hands do help. The fuse was first pulled(clearly marked which one)on the fuse cover. The main abs connector begins to dis-engage as you lift the cover(something I wasn't aware of) If it begins to lift hard it's because it's also prying on the connector as it's opening! The cover clip opens from the fender side. I began to gently open and close it farther each time. When the cover opened to the twelve/one oclock position...I was able to dis-lodge the connector. If you force the cover past that position it may break.
Put a baggie or plastic bag over the rectangular connector and tyrap, to protect it.(common sense stuff) Up until now, all I removed to get to the ABS is the Fuse box cover. Removing the two wire main pwr was just a sqeeze the ends of the connector and gently work back and forth, pulling
lightly till it came out.
Finding the E5 torx socket earlier this morning was a chore. I thought surely SEARS would have it...wrong...The smallest they had was a E6 IN A
SET of six $39.00 OUCH. I drove down to PEP BOYS and found a set that
started with an E4 socket all the way up to Gi-normous (10 sockets for $19)
WOOOHOO!
Well there is 4 Torx bolts holding the ABS Module on, and they are LONG, 2 inches (like 8-32 width)
hard to turn with the fingers so when you loosen them, just use the socket to turn them out being careful not to drop. I disconnected the MAF tube to get a better 1/4 ratchet position, I t helped a little.
You have to feel for their position as they are recessed in the cover, they are facing down and away from your position. Even after the four bolts are removed the Module is not loose but firmly stuck in position. A little Firm wiggling will loose the coils in the pack from the group of brake stems they cover. DONE!
Don't be surprised what you find living in there:)

Ask her to wait a moment - I am almost done.
