Keyless Entry

Post by bshort001 »

I have a 2001 S40 and my keyless remote broke. Can I buy a keyless remote on-line and have it reprogrammed at the dealer? I know I have to go to the dealer to have it reprogrammed because of the codes, but the dealer told me to buy both the remote and get it programmed there which is like $350. I figured I can but the remote for around 40$ and then get it programmed at the dealer for $120. Any suggestions? Thanks

Welcome to MVS.
Yes, you can do that- I wouldn't tell the dealer where you got it...make sure the FCC numbers on your original remote and the one from eBay match each other.
