V50 D Timing Belt change?
Hi, I'm a nubee to the Volvo world, but just changed from a BMW to a V50 2.0D SE with lush interior and goes like a train and looks the dogs. Anyhow, I have a query and wondered if someone could answer, my car has quite high mileage, 55 plate, 82k/s on it, the garage assure me that the timing belt does not need changing until 140k's can you concur? I have the fear as my current BMW Timing chain went wrong and cost me £700! many thanks

Welcome to Matthew's Volvo Site.
This site is based in the US and 55 plate means nothing to most of the members. Better to give the year. Of course, I know what you mean
For the D4204T the timing belt change interval is listed as 144,000 miles or 10 years whichever is the sooner.
Bill.
