2001 XC 70 ETM/ Catalytic Convertor Failure

2001 XC 70 ETM/ Catalytic Convertor Failure

Had problem with erratic idle, etc. took to dealer, replaced Throttle body, and was told that Cat Convertor (Efficiency Code P 0422) was active and needed to replace. If the Electronic Throttle Module was defective (replaced via warranty), would that have contributed to the early demise of the Cat Conv??
