I have just bought a 1996 850 Turbo with the sport suspension option: What exactly is different from the base model?
Thanks,

If it really does, my condolences
I sold a car to someone who had and 850 with that suspension, (he ordered it)
He said it was awful, VERY stiff

JRL, Well we all have different requirements. I really like the handling but I've always owned sports cars. I do have to put up with 3 miles of dirt road to my house but it is worth it for the fun of driving a vehicle that hugs the road.

I replied in your other thread. There are several thicknesses of front sway bars, possibly that package includes one of the thicker versions? Also, not all had factory rear sway bars. Maybe yours wouldn't have but was ordered to include the option?
1998 S70 GLT - 183K - full of fun stuff and meticulously maintained!
I found the answer on Volvo's website: https://www.customers.volvocars.com/own ... Turbo.html.
The sport package has stiffer sway/stabizer bars front and rear and stiffer shocka all round. The standard bar diameters are 20mm/19.5mm - front/rear. The "Sports" diameters are 21mm/20mm front/rear.
