Removal of heater motor

Hi from Oklahoma,

2007 XC90, Heater motor removal, pretty straight forward job untill the 5th screw. that one screw is being vigilantly protected by a horizontal flare in fire wall that prevents vertical retraction. I'm in the "what now" phase of problem solving mechanics. Anybody had any dealings with this prob?
