Dash lights 02 V70xc

Post by marvin46917 »

*This is an update from an earlier question* (original question) While driving today, the dash lights went out. Also, the gas guage, spedometer, and temp guage went dead. You can still see the digital readout for the odometer and clock, but it has no back light so you have to really look to see it. What would have caused this and can it be easily fixed? I am hoping that it is just a loose connection or a blown fuse maybe? (update question) The dash is flickering off and on. It will come on for a bit and then it will go out. Is it still a bad dash cluster or could it be something else?

You probably need a new DIM module (dashboard)
$1300
You can try to remove it and clean the contacts, but this is not an uncommon issue wirh 2001-2003 P2s.
2004 and newer seem to be OK
Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP

Are the 2004 compatable with the 2002? If so I think that I can find one. I can get a 2002 as well, but if the 04 is better and compatable I will upgrade.

Thanks

If you swap the clusters, I believe you'll need a SW update.
However, you can send it to XemodeX, for around $400 they'll refurb yours and give a lifetime warranty.
