Interchange wheels '96 855R <--> '99 V70XC?

Post by bouldergeek »

My 855R may have just crossed the Rubicon for me. I've put $2500 into it in the last 1.5 years, and if the turbo or ECM is really fried, I'm going to part ways with her.

I found a nice V70XC near me for $4K. Would I be able to take my 850R wheels and pop them on the XC, and then sell off my 850R as a parts car?

Aside from that, is there anybody in the Boulder, CO area looking for an 850R wagon to love and repair? :roll: :(

OK, so I ate a little of my own dog food and found that they both use 5x108 pattern.

However, apparently the 850s used a 12x1.5b stud and the V70XC uses 14x1.5b.

Anyone able to confirm that this means that wheels are _not_ directly interchangeable?

I thought for sure they were interchangeable. If there not, that is news to me.
