XC90 suspension replacement

Post by stone36 »

Has anyone had to replace the suspension on their XC90, specifically with self leveling rear (7 pass)?

I have seen front struts available at ipd or fcp, I think it was in the range of $200-$300 per side, but I haven't seen any rear suspension options, I know I can get them from the dealer but it is probably pretty expensive.

I am thinking about replacing these at around 75K miles (6-12 months) so I am wondering what others have done. So if you have done this what have you used (Bilstein, etc.)? And where did you get them?

Thanks

If you are replacing the Nivomat self-leveling on the rear then there are no options.
You can search around and find them at several shock outlets.
I have replaced Nivomats before when they were still functioning correctly in leveling vehicle and the ride and behavior did not improve on the rear. They are a very sturdy unit and as long as they hold the oil they usually perfrom damping function well for a long long time. Do the front and see if you aren't happy with the result.
