Navigation Discs

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Navigation Discs

Post by seang1989 »

I just picked up a 2007 S80 with factory installed Navigation. Thrilled with the car, but when I went to find navigation update discs I found out the cost was $199!!!!!!!!!!!! I can get a Tom Tom for $99. I want to use the factory installed nav system but my area has changed so much since 2007 I would really like to update the discs.

Any other options besides Navteq?

Thanks,
Sean

No, there is no other option and honestly, 199 is a good price. Have you used a 99 dollar tomtom before? I have and they are total crap. Just spend the 200 and be happy with the nice Volvo nav.

You can get used ones on Ebay. The newer, the more expensive. I have the same issue with my '08 Mustang. Honestly, only the places change; if you have the address to where you are going, that will still suffice.

It's $100 or so to update my Garmin; that's nearly what I paid for the thing.

Thanks guys. I still have my Garmin since I didn't have the NAV system in my last Volvo. I still use that on my motorcycle. I'm figuring I'm going to keep the car for a few years, so I may just spend the money or just deal with the 2007 disk that came with it.

There's a guy in Germany sells the 2010 discs on Ebay for 99GBP. I can verify as I purchased the 2010 DVD version for my 2002 S80 T6.
