1993 850GLT Cabin Heating/Cooling problems

Hi,

My daughter's 93 850 GLT appears to only blow air into your face. None to windshield (if you set it to defrost there is a roaring sound above the dash on the driver's side.

No heat/cool to the floor area (strange my 98 V70 XC is the same on this part).

Not convinced their is cold air mix coming in.

Finally had the battery on long enough to get the following codes:

2-1-1, 4-1-1, 4-1-4.

Had a new Volvo fan unit fitted about 3 years ago (car has done about 35k km since and makes no noises other than normal).

2-1-1 : Driver's side damper motor position senser shorted to earth

4-1-1 : Blower fan seized or drawing excessive current

4-1-4 : Driver's side interior temperature sensor fan seized

With this info, before I take stuff apart, I want to know if the codes are accurate, or is there something else I should be looking at from the sysmtoms that perhaps links them all?

I am considering pulling the whole dash to replace the A/C evaporator and some dash lights, is there anything else I should be checking while in there?

It sounds to me like trap doors arent opening/closing to shift air movement, Volvo's had either a cable (manual) or electronic (aut) control, if its a cable you should be able to feel and hear the movement of the cable/trap door with fan on, on an electronic control you will only hear the trap door as there is no mechanical connecion from the dials, The roaring sound may be a partially stuck trap door.
