Overdrive....HELP! Topic is solved

Ok so I have a 1989 240 DL w/ Overdrive. Awhile ago the overdrive light went on. So I read up on the problem and changed the relay.....light still on. I checked the wiring, it was OK. I changed the solenoid and fuses...light goes out, but the overdrive still does not engage. I checked the new solenoid and when the power is on and you push the button u can hear the solenoid click. I am out of ideas and this problem is really starting to get to me. Any help would be much appreciated!
