Lemforder sway bar end links

Post by IVIUSTANG »

In my quest to save money while sacrificing very little, I searched for different suppliers for end links as my previous Karlyn(long story) one didn't outlast the original OEM link on the other side.

I found a Lemforder part sold by http://www.bimmerspecialist.com/usa/par ... r/31212730 for $26(it was actually only $18 last night when I bought it!) and it was only $10 international shipping on this site!

Lemforder is the OEM supplier for the links on the S70 so is it safe to assume this part is just as good as the Volvo part at less than half the cost? I have never heard anyone talk about the lemforder branded links and have never seen them from my regular suppliers(IPD, autopartsway and FCP) so I thought it may be good to bring this to peoples attention.

Lemfoerder is a German company, and is OEM on Mercedes and BMW, among others. There should be no quality problems with their products.

Lemforder makes the Volvo-branded control arms for 850s and S/V70s.

Nice find!

I have Lemforder in my 1998 BMW.
Does anyone know if Lemforder offers LT warranty?

I have Meyle endlinks in my 1998 V70.
Meyle offers LT warranty, which came as a "sweet surprise" for me, because my Meyle endlinks failed after 25K miles.
I called Meyle USA warranty division and they sent me the upgraded HD version for FREE!
(I had to fax them my receipt).
All is good now.

If you are tight with budget, Meyle is not bad at all, considering that Meyle offers LT warranty.

Installed the Lemforder end links yesterday, very nice tight ball joints, the rod connecting them is much beefier than the Karlyn part I am replacing; and the rubber boot appears to be of better quality than the Karlyn. I don't know if this Lemforder is the OEM part, but it sure makes Karlyn look like junk. Even the packaging screams quality :) For $18 a piece for these I am thrilled!

I used to machine products for Lemforder. I can attest that there Quality Control Dept. is top notch. They were a pain in the butt for me as a machinist, but that makes for a quality part for me as the end user. They used to have a facility in Brewer Maine.

Not trying to revive an old thread, but find my question to be similar to the OP's question.

How good are these things really?

Are there any accounts of bad Lemforder links out there? I'm getting a clunk now (in addition to my other sound...) sounds for certain like a sway end link sound! I replaced two-year old Karylns with Lemforders about 2k miles ago...

The car that keeps on giving...just did a 200 mile drive and the car was amazing on the highway... :?

Going swap in the XC90 spring seats on Sunday or Saturday...
