1993 Volvo 850 codes
1993 Volvo 850 codes
I have been trying to diagnose an ABS problem in my car. The ABS light is always on from the time the ingition if switched from on until it is turned off. I have cleaned the wheel sensors and inspected the leads, and all appear to be in good shape although I feel this was wasted effort since the ABS light is on even before the system resets. I have found code lists online, but they do not supply me with the correct ABS code. When plugging the flylead into the A3 (ABS) socket, I get code 421. This code does not exist on any of my sheets. Does anyone have a more comprehensive list that includes this code?

Do not bother with codes ...You will end up finding it is the ABS controler. 99% of the Abs problems are this because of the cracks of the week solder volvo( malayesya) uses in the controler connection.Easy and the far most inexpensive way to fix it is Ebay -search or an auctions who repare Abs units for $75 with 3 years guarantee.I think there are 3 places for $150, $125 and $75.Just send your unit to them and wait one week and get it back fixed.Do not wary after you remove the thing(you will need a torx 5 wrench)your speedometer wil not work, but as soon you instal the part back will work again.Do not forgot to drive the car for 1-2 miles after you instal it so the systerm will reset the light on the board.I did mine last year- works and I spend under $100
