Hey all, been a while since I've posted. I'm buying a used motor in the next couple of months to replace my tired 304k mile unit.
I'm going to be refreshing all of the seals and o-rings I can get to before sending to the shop for install. Of course I want to do these myself as that cut labor costs and is much easier while the motor is out. The shop quoted me an extra $400 to replace f/r cam seals, injector o-rings and the oil pump o-rings. Timing belt, water pump and other components were included in the install.
So, I am looking for an engine stand so I an do this work in my small garage. How does the engine mount to the stand?
Are there mounting points already on the engine? I would think this is a one day job at most even for a novice like myself.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Normally I believe it mounts onto where your transmission would go. Using the same holes you would mount said transmission.

This worked wit the engine stand I used. Took some fiddling and a bunch of large washers, but worked great.sliptones629 wrote:Normally I believe it mounts onto where your transmission would go. Using the same holes you would mount said transmission.

I would do the rear main seal while it is out for sure. I will get to mine eventually.
