My 2004 S80 2.5 AWD has a clunking sound in the front end. It has new struts with mounts and bearings, new sway bar links, ball joints and control arm bushings.
When my wife started to complain it is time to fix it.....again.
After checking out the front end the only thing that I can come up with is that the inner CV housing (spline side) moves up and down about a quarter of an inch.
Could this be the clunk that I hear when going over a bump?
Could it be a worn spline or possibly the output bearing in the transmission?
If it is the out put bearing can it be replaced or am I looking at a new transfer case?
Thank you,
Cbat
