Greetings,
I seem to have a vacuum leak at my intake manifold. After replacing ignition control modules and repairing some wiring harness I have eliminated my cylinder misfire, but still have a rough idle. I used the carb cleaner spray and it seems that the idle really picks up when I spray around the boots from the intake manifold to the block. It seems more pronounced around cyls 1,2,3 than it does at the back of the motor.
I would guess that this indicates a bad seal and the gasket seems like the weak point and I am guessing that it might need to be replaced.
How difficult of a job is it to remove the manifold and replace the gasket? Are there any other things that I can try or check before tackling the job.
I sprayed the carb cleaner around as many other vacuum fittings as I could find, but didn't notice any change in idle.
thanks for any help,
Travis
