Hi Guys,
This one has me stumped. My 91 740, 2.3 non turbo won't start, drove it parked it for a bit and then was going to use it again and didn't want to start. Just cranked real good, but just wouldn't start. Checked fuel pumps..work. Fuel filter good. Checked coil, good ohms, etc., but no spark. OBD #6 socket 1-1-1..no fault. What am I missing? is it possibly my ECU? I haven't replaced the wires, cap, rotor and plugs since I had it, three years!??
Thanks much in advance,

If your car has the Bosch ignition the power stage (ignition module) or the crank position sensor are two causes I can think of without knowing more info. The ignition module is located on the drivers side inner fender behind the air cleaner. The CPS is located on the top of the bell housing just below the distributor.

The grounds for the fuel injectors can corrode. Resolder the lugs or use DeOxIt magic juice to clean off resistance causing crud. They are on the fuel rail mounts, big wires ending in rings bolted to the fuel injector mounting brackets. See? Right there. These will NOT trip a trouble code because there is a connection, just not a good one.
