V70 & C70 SUSPENSION NOISE

I'm new to this forum and hopefully it's as helpful as other forums.

I have a 2001 V70, 57k miles on it. I bought it with 55k miles on it. The last Volvo I had was a 1998 V70 purchased new. Borton Volvo in Minneapolis screwed me out of some money and I told myself never again. Well, years later they had the car I wanted... so now I'm screwed again. The front left wheel 'area' makes random noises that sound like a rubbing (I would guess plastic rubbing on a fast moving tire) This is not the case. I usually happens around clover leaves with a bit of uneven road to stimulate suspension travel. I'm guessing a bearing or the ABS sensor..... I don't know. The few times the traction control has kicked-in , it sounded very similar to this noise.
My wife's 2001 C70 with 23k miles make funny front susepension noises too....

Are these cars now poorly constructed? Has Ford screwed Volvo? Anyone?

Even though my V70 is a "CERTIFIED VOLVO" BORTON VOLVO's service department is VERY clear that if they cannot hear it, then nothing is wrong. I think they are unwilling and I also think a Certified Volvo is a crock of poo considering the condition of this car that they will not fix.

I'm kicking myself for not buying another 5 series like the one I sold with 155k on it that drove 10 TIMES BETTER then this Certified garbage.

...perhaps I'm bitter....

i had the same problem. you need to replace the coil spring seat. here are the instructions.

probably the spring seat 20$ at groton. I have changed it on my v70 t5 2001
commun problem.To make sure go at the end of the strut open the hood
try to twist the end of the strut if you can , it needs replacement.
