heated seat

Post by pkmed99 »

I have a 2001 V70 and my drivers side heated seat stopped working recently. The passenger side works just fine, and both switches show a working light--I have read through some other postings and there seems to be some info regarding the wires attached to a thermostat inside the seat--any idea if the same goes for my model and year? Any help iss appreciated. Thanks!

I'm just about certain that your model has a small thermostat mounted on the under-side of the seat. The problem is the wires often break or in my case, the connector snapped off the thermostat itself.

I just spent a 1/2 day fixing my 95 850 drivers side heater over the holidays. Easy fix really but I found it best to pull the seat out and turn it over to work on in the garage (just 4 bolts hold it in). I had to solder on a new connector on the thermostat (it's about the size of a nickel). Tried to cheap it instead of buying a new thermostat. So far, so good.......
