1998 V70 Fuel pump retaining ring

Post by ScaleAutoArt »

I am able to move the retaining ring counter clockwise about 1/8 revolution and then it stops. Does it lift out once in that position because I can't get it to budge...carefully tried to see if it would pry loose but no luck.

The large white plastic thing? It unscrews. I used a pair of pliers, sliding the handle ends into the plastic to make it easier to turn.

If I had a larger garage, I could have more Volvos.

No...it's a large black ring...doesn't want to un screw...it just stops. Should it fully un screw?

Thanks for the quick response...a factory hose clamp was in the way and acting as a stop...moved it and spun it off...10 mins later we have ignition!
